*Durham’s Advanced Animal Diagnostics* to develop on-farm lab system, farm animal tests

Durham-based Advanced Animal Diagnostics will launch a new automated on-farm lab system and develop new tests for farm animals. Producers need fast, cost-effective diagnostic information on the farm, and the company is addressing that need.

Mastitis is a condition in dairy cows that affects milk yield and is the most costly animal disease in the world. The first test launched by the company will be for early detection of this condition so that treatment can begin early and losses minimized. All tests developed by the company will use the same automated reader in processing, giving farmers the ability to run multiple tests on the same device.
