Axjo America locating to Conover, creating 14 jobs

CONOVER, N.C. — Axjo America will invest $11.1 million and create 14 new jobs in its expansion to a facility in Conover. The company makes lightweight spools for communications cable and will almost double its current workforce of 15 in the relocation to the 143,300-square-foot building.

Axjo has been successful as a supplier to the fiber optics and cable industry since it opened in Catawba County in 2011. With the added space in Conover, the company plans to expand into producing larger spools by adding injection-molding equipment over the next five years. Axjo makes its lightweight plastic spools chiefly from recycled materials.

The company is a subsidiary of Sweden’s Axjo AB.
