Republic Services opening Charlotte call center

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Republic Services plans to open a call center in Charlotte and has leased space at Three Resource Square in University City. The second-largest provider of waste services in the U.S. will occupy a 82,375-square-foot space in the four-story office building.

The Arizona-based company did not say how many jobs will be created, but more than 400 employees could be accommodated in the leased space. Republic Services currently operates a regional customer-support center in 13,000 square feet at University Executive Park.

According to its website, Republic Services provides non-hazardous solid waste and recycling services for commercial, industrial, municipal and residential customers. It provides reliable service through 338 collection operations, 200 transfer stations, 193 active solid waste landfills, 66 recycling centers and 69 landfill gas and renewable energy projects across 39 states and Puerto Rico.
