The Fresh Market opens sixth store in Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Fresh Market opened its new store in Charlotte’s Dilworth neighborhood with the ceremonial cracking of an 80-pound wheel of Parmesan cheese. About 90 employees were hired to staff the roughly 15,000-square-foot store. The Fresh Market now has six stores in the city.
The Fresh Market is a specialty grocer based in Greensboro. The company made efforts to capture the inherent charm of the historic neighborhood in the store’s design and decor. Copper awnings and subway tiles are used throughout the store. An old-fashioned sign designates the floral department and narrower aisles bring in the neighborhood feel and make the store feel more intimate.
Launched in 1982, The Fresh Market operates 178 stores in 27 states.
