Tech Talent South makes Charlotte official HQ, names CEO
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Local coding boot camp Tech Talent South made Charlotte its official headquarters and named a CEO, Charlotte Business Journal reported.
The company’s co-founder, Betsy Hauser Idilbi, took majority ownership of the tech education firm and was named its chief executive.
Melissa Nemec, Tech Talent South’s newly appointed chief marketing officer, told me the company didn’t have an official headquarters city before the announcement Tuesday. Its first location was in Atlanta.
The company also announced plans to launch four new campus locations on top of its current programs in Atlanta, Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh, Winston-Salem, New Orleans, Dallas, Phoenix and Jacksonville, Fla. The new campuses will launch this year in Oklahoma City, Baltimore, San Antonio and Columbus, Ohio.
In addition, Tech Talent South will start offering program options for remote students this summer. And it will be adding over 25 jobs across all of its markets, including seven in Charlotte. The company, which launched in 2013, currently has six full-time employees here plus contracted instructors.
