Owens Corning opening $130 Million state-of-the-art plant in Gastonia, hiring 110 – VIDEO
GASTONIA, N.C. — Owens Corning recently dedicated their new $130 million plant in Gastonia, NC – the largest single investment the Ohio-based company has ever made. The new plant will be primarily focused on growing the company’s non-wovens glass fiber market, particularly the North American construction segment.
The project was supported with 47 acres of land and $9.3 million in tax refunds from Gaston County. The state gave them $1.69 million as well as an additional $154,000 from North Carolina for training at Gaston College.
In exchange the company promised to create 110 jobs by the end of 2016 as well as significantly increasing their supporting companies footprints throughout Gaston County. Check for Owens Corning jobs here.
